About 5 hours by car on the 85D highway. Buses depart from Mexico City North Terminal to Ciudad Valles (about 6-7 hours).
From Tampico
Tampico airport is 2 hours away — the closest international option. From there, Ciudad Valles is a straight drive on highway 80.
